Faith formation is an integral and vital aspect of parish life. As a faith community, we strive to discover, deepen, and enrich our faith through regular catechesis and ongoing adult faith formation.
PRE-BAPTISMAL CATECHESIS
Pre-Baptismal Catechesis is offered to parents-to-be before they present their child for Baptism. These sessions draw attention to the importance of the Baptismal call and help parents understand their responsibility in nurturing the faith of their child. Through this catechesis, parents are prepared to joyfully welcome a new child of God into the Christian community. The programme is conducted by a dedicated team of qualified lay persons.
CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION
Children’s Faith Formation (Sunday School) provides children with a foundational experience of faith. Catechism classes are open to children from Standard I to Standard X. Our catechists are a committed, energetic, and young team who bring the faith alive through creative methods and a variety of resources. The syllabus followed is Biblical Catechesis, developed by the Diocesan Catechetical Centre. Catechism classes are held every Sunday at
8.00 a.m., followed by the
Children’s Mass at 9.15 a.m. in the church.
TEENAGE FAITH FORMATION
Teenage Faith Formation is carried out through the
Confirmation Programme, which culminates in the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation after Easter. Weekly classes of one and a half hours, held every Sunday at
8.00 a.m., help young people recognize the relevance of faith in a world often marked by conflicting values and challenges to the Gospel.
YOUTH FORMATION
Youth Formation takes place through the parish Youth Group, where faith formation is one of its three core goals. At regular intervals, resource persons of calibre are invited to conduct sessions that guide and inspire the youth in their faith journey.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION
Adult Faith Formation is nurtured through spiritual talks and biblical inputs offered to members of the parish prayer group. The group gathers regularly to pray, praise, worship, and reflect on the Word of God.
ONGOING FORMATION OF CATECHISTS
Ongoing Formation of Catechists is ensured through their participation in diocesan training programmes and recollections. In addition, parish-level sessions are organized to keep faith formation an ongoing and enriching process.
LEADERSHIP FORMATION
Leadership Formation is provided to members of the Parish Pastoral Council, SCC Steering Committee, community leaders, and animators through monthly meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
ASSOCIATIONS AND PARISH GROUPS
Associations and Parish Groups are also supported through sessions and seminars, which are arranged at least once a year to strengthen their faith and mission.
