PRE BAPTISMAL CATECHESIS

Is mandatory for first-time parents and godparents and must be completed before the Baptism of the child.

Who Should Attend
• First-time parents
• Godparents (mandatory attendance)

Expectant first-time parents are encouraged to register as early as possible, from the first trimester onwards.

Registration Details
• Registration must be done at the Parish Office
• Parents are required to submit:
• Names of the godparents
• A photocopy of the Church Marriage Certificate
• Registration Fee: ₹400

Baptism will not be administered unless the parents submit a valid certificate of completion of the Pre-Baptismal Catechesis, whether obtained from this parish or any other parish.

Course Timing
• Day: Sunday
• Time: 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• Duration: Approximately 2½ hours

COURSE SCHEDULE

Pre-Baptismal Catechesis will be conducted on the following Sundays:
• February 8 & 15, 2026

Godparents are required to attend on the second Sunday of the session.

PURPOSE OF THE CATECHESIS

Through this course, parents and godparents will gain a deeper understanding of:
• The meaning and purpose of the Sacrament of Baptism
• Their shared responsibility in nurturing and raising the child in the Catholic faith
