Faith formation is an important aspect of parish life. We seek to discover and enrich dimensions of our faith by way of regular catechesis and adult faith formation. Before stepping into the world, parents to be are offered Pre-baptismal Catechesis, drawing to their attention the importance of Baptismal calling. Through Pre-baptismal catechesis they are equipped to welcome to the new child of God.
Pre-baptismal catecheses are held by a dedicated team of qualified lay persons.
Children are given a taste of faith through Sunday school catechesis. We welcome children from std I to std Xth. Our catechists are committed, energetic and young team who bring alive faith using a variety of resources. The syllabus adopted is Biblical Catechesis developed by the Diocesan Catechetical Centre.
Catechism classes are held every Sunday at 8.00 A.M. followed by children’s mass at 9.15 A.M. in the church.
The faith formation of teenagers is catered by way of the Confirmation programme which culminates with the administration of Confirmation post Easter. The classes of one hour and forty five minutes half hour duration every Sunday at 5.00 P.M. give these young people an opportunity to recognize the relevance of our faith in our world beset with conflicting Gospel values.
Formation of youth takes place in the parish Youth Group. Faith formation is one of the three goals of the group. And at periodic intervals persons of caliber are invited to give sessions to the youth.
Spiritual talks and Biblical input are offered to the members of the parish prayer group. The group meet to pray, praise, worship and understand God’s word.
The catechists brush up knowledge of faith through attendance at the Diocesan training programmes and Recollections. Besides, sessions are also organized at the parish level, so as to keep faith formation as an ongoing process.
Parish council and SCC steering committee members, communities’ leaders and animators are offered regular inputs by way of monthly meetings and training sessions and workshops.
Sessions and seminars are arranged for different associations at least once a year.
